| To
obtain the correct seal kit, the cylinder must be identified
to determine which type of piston is used in your application.
Checking the face of the gland for stamped numbers can make
identification to the types given below. Click link to view

SP-type
piston. The "Split Piston" cylinder was most commonly
used on the early production 580C. By this time Case was identifying
their Cylinders with the numbers stamped in the face of the
gland. If the number starts with G3 it will be a cylinder with
a "Split Piston". |
|
OP-type
piston. The "One Piece Piston" cylinders were used
in the later production 580C. These cylinders are also stamped
with a number in the face of the gland. If the stamped number
starts with G10 it will be a cylinder with a "One Piece
Piston". |
